In 2021, the Ramallah Municipality opened the city’s first-ever fitness trail with support from the Municipal Development Fund. This trail was designed to promote healthy lifestyles by providing residents with a safe and dedicated space to enjoy sports and outdoor activities. Stretching 890 meters in length and 7 meters in width, the trail is an ideal facility for cyclists, runners, walkers, and fitness enthusiasts, complete with outdoor exercise equipment, all in a car-free, health-conscious environment. The trail wraps around Al-Birwa Park near the Ramallah Cultural Palace. Perched on a hill along Sindiyana Street, it offers stunning views of the Ein Munjid and Al-Masyoun neighborhoods.
Features of the Fitness Trail:
The trail is inclusive and accessible to everyone—including families, children, seniors, and even individuals with disabilities. Since its opening, it has become a favorite spot for sports trainers, who use it for their sessions, and for families seeking an active and refreshing day out.
The trail is also equipped with two kiosks at the entrance serving fresh juices and water, while the Municipality’s staff diligently maintains the area daily. Two municipal workers are stationed at the trail to keep the fitness equipment in top condition and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for all visitors. Whether running, cycling, or simply enjoying a brisk walk, the fitness trail invites everyone to embrace a healthier, more active lifestyle amidst the beauty of Ramallah.
